Incredible Adventures in the Jungle by Dinara Akbay

Two boys’ quarrelling leads to Incredible Adventures in the Jungle.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Exactly, continued Jim. ‘I think we got here just because of the quarrel. Was that a lesson for us?’

Besides writing children’s books, Dinara Akbay is also a songwriter and the mother of three kids. Kids inspire her with their vivid imaginations to write fantasy and magic books. Through them, she learns how to find happiness and to open boundaries into unexplored worlds.

Incredible Adventures in the Jungle is her first children’s picture book for ages six to ten and was published in September 2021.

My take on Incredible Adventures in the Jungle

In Incredible Adventures in the JungleDinara Akbay teaches children about sharing and teamwork in a fun and entertaining way. The humorous illustrations add to the children’s enjoyment of the story.

Children will associate with Tim’s unwillingness to share his toys and feel Jim’s anger from being at the receiving end. They will delight in the unexpected outcome of this quarrel.

Through Tim and Jim’s adventures in the jungle, they will learn the importance of teamwork and the joy and fun of sharing and playing together peacefully.

Should you get Incredible Adventures in the Jungle for your child?

Kiddos will enjoy the funny illustrations and hearing about the boys’ adventures in the jungle. They will realise that sharing toys and playing together is much more fun. It can lead to many shared experiences through their active imaginations – not due to a quarrel.

Hi! I am Susan

Welcome to my adventure

Why Read or Rot?

I have started reading at the age of four. I can remember how I often read under the covers with a flashlight when I was supposed to sleep.

During my early school years, we visited the library once a week. I couldn’t pick out my new book fast enough! By the end of the period, I would have finished it already, leaving me with nothing to read for the rest of the week!

Growing up, Fridays was the highlight of my week. Dad would pack the whole family into the car, and off we go! You guessed right – to the library! We were a family of readers.

In my adult years, I’ve developed a variety of interests like technology, photography, gardening and even writing. But reading was and will always be a part of my life!

Reading for me is like breathing. If I cannot read, my soul will quietly rot away
